Project Profile: Wind Power – Oak Glen Wind Farm
Oak Glen Wind Farm (OGWF) is another example of Avant’s proficiency in developing and managing renewable generation assets. OGWF is a 24 turbine, 44 MW project that produces 150,000 MWh of renewable energy each year. OGWF has been a very reliable facility, maintaining greater than 99% availability year over year.
Some project highlights include:
- Completed ahead of schedule and under budget – OGWF was completed months ahead of schedule and 10% under budget
- Employed innovative financing – OGWF used an innovative financing structure to qualify for a $25.4 million grant under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act
- Received widespread community support – OGWF received widespread community support for the project, the result of an active community outreach program
- Received Public Power Wind Award – in 2012 the project was awarded the Public Power Wind Award by the Department of Energy, recognizing project creativity, innovation and benefits
